Abstract:

Millions of dollars are spent each year by organizations, communities and higher education in an attempt to enhance leadership skills. This meta-analysis of 36 studies measures the effectiveness of leadership training. The results demonstrate the importance of leadership training and reveal the lack of diligent post-training assessment. Overall, this study concludes that training is effective, but the glamour and funding has gone into training with minimal assessment effort. (*** Top Paper in Training & Development)
