Abstract:This study explores the relationships among two personality components (conscientiousness and neuroticism), dimensions of teacher perfectionism, and affective instruction (caring and burnout). Participants were 50 faculty teaching at a Southwestern university. Teacher standards and orderliness were positively related to conscientiousness and caring while negatively related to neuroticism. A canonical correlation analysis examined the relationship between three aspects of teacher perfectionism and three dimensions of burnout. Teacher perfectionism predicted a significant amount of variance of burnout.
