Abstract:

Experiential education is one area of research that should be of primary importance to the communication discipline. This paper explores how communication has been overlooked in traditional experiential education theory and suggests three major ways in which experiential education can promote a renewed focus on communication: through inclusion of conversational learning, by advocating communicative reflection, and by more closely linking action to talk.
