It's nice to be in San Diego this weekend, so on behalf of the NCA Press staff, thank you all very much for giving us the reason to be here. I look forward to getting to know as many of you as possible these next three days through interviews and on our NCA-TV Program. Every day I will be sitting down and speaking with the men and women who have made this year's "unconventional" convention possible.
I look forward to learning from all of you, whether it be face-to-face, or if I'm just rolling the camera during a lecture or paper presentation. I must admit I am not quite as green as the rest of the NCA Press Team - This is my second NCA Convention (Boston '06) I was the young guy with the microphone during all of the paper presentations.
That said, I still don't know what to expect this year. One of the best things about Communication studies, and one of reasons I went through Emerson's Baccalaureate Program is that it is always changing! In the two years since the convention in Boston so much has changed in our world - namely in the fields of technology and politics.
These distinctly different atmospheres have changed the way our society communicates significantly in the past few years, and I am hoping to gain as much from the various events this year as I'm sure all of you are.
I look forward to speaking with all of you soon, and I hope that you don't get sick of my face, because I'll be right here all weekend - giving you all of the news and highlights from this year's amazing event.
